It’s the first week of January and it’s been FREEZING. Crystal clear 16 degree mornings have been the norm for awhile here in the South Seattle area. So when two of our designers got the chance to go outside today, they put on hats and gloves and ventured out to Issaquah to Kayak Academy to do some fittings.

The first thing you think of isn’t kayaking when there is left over snow on the ground? No rest for the weary, but more importantly driven, designers Jake Sornsin and Gail Foster. We were lucky to find a kayak shop open at this time of year. As we say, off season is our season and the kind folks at Kayak Adventure let us fit countless kayaks and some canoes with our new covers we have lined up this year. We always are looking to find the perfect fit and this is just one way we do it.

Although Jake’s dog Tiffany gets to stay warm while he maneuvers kayaks off their stacks onto frozen ground:

Above and beyond for these two today. I think an afternoon hot chocolate is in order.

Special thanks to Kayak Adventures for letting us visit you on this freezing winter day! Check them out for lessons and to shop all their gear at www.kayakacademy.com
