Happy Dogust everybody! … wait what?

“Dogust” was founded July 29th, 2008 by the North Shore Animal League of America to acknowledge that the actual birth dates of most rescue dogs are unknown.  To give these wonderful animals their much deserved recognition, the Animal League will be declaring the first day of the eighth month (August 1) as DOGust the First, a universal birthday for shelter and rescue dogs everywhere. What a great way to celebrate man’s best-friend.
