Delina Wells is one of our many talented designers here at Classic Accessories. Many days you will find her looking into customer trends and researching and creating colors that she feels would look best in your outdoor patio spaces.

When asked if I could blog about some of weekend plans around the area, she agreed and gave me a snapshot of how she gets playful with color and sightseeing around Seattle with out of town friends and her sidekick – Brody.

I’ve been working on getting my front porch ready for Summer. After I removed all my Ravenna Covers, I added a couple of bright colored rugs from World Market and hung curtains on bamboo rods that I cut from my yard. The curtains make a huge difference, helps to keep the sun out and really creates a feeling of relaxation. I’m planning on adding lights next and maybe fabric panels from the beams to the ceiling…… tbd!

I’ve been thinking about drought resistant gardening lately. We have a huge barren spot in our front yard that we’ve been meaning to add sod to but the amount of water it would take to keep it alive through the hot summer months seems like a huge waste of resources. I found this pretty arrangement at the West Seattle nursery that could be the beginning of environmentally friendly décor.

This flowering tree smells soo nice in my neighborhood. Anyone know what it is?

Maybe it’s a Prunus lusitanica??

I am also thinking about adding a little kitsch to my West Seattle Summer with some wind chimes:

The rooster is one I bought for my mom, I am a fan of this frog I found.

This past weekend we had friends in town and decided to take them on a tour of Alki via electric bikes from the Electric & Folding Bikes Northwest.

These things are so much fun and there’s not a hill in Seattle that I can’t conquer on one of these. Rent a couple in Ballard this weekend and tour down to Golden Gardens. You’ll be glad you did.

If only there were a pet appropriate basket, my sidekick would always be in tow.
This is Brody, he comes to the office most days with Delina. One of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet and knows how to rock a mohawk better than any cool cat!

Thanks Delina for the sneak peek into your weekend.
